Genevieve A. Mente

Genevieve A. Mente joined the Capua Law Firm in 2015 and focuses her practice at the law firm primarily on construction and business transactions and litigation including construction contract management, creditor’s rights, and alcoholic beverage and brewery law matters. Mente’s intellectual curiosity, extensive business experience, and facility with cutting-edge technologies lies behind her passion for solving client’s legal issues and disputes.

While at Capua Law Firm, Mente has litigated cases in both state and federal courts in North Carolina, the North Carolina Court of Appeals, and U.S. bankruptcy courts. She has also represented clients in FINRA arbitrations, EEOC proceedings, and in administrative hearings involving municipal governments. Prior to joining Capua Law Firm, Mente practiced for several years at The Vetro Law firm in Boone, North Carolina where her areas of focus included real estate and business disputes, and real estate and probate transactions.

Mente also brings her experience as a veteran in the wine distribution industry to her alcoholic beverage practice. Mente is conversant in French and earned her Juris Doctor degree from the Levin College of Law at the University of Florida in 2009, and her B.A. in French from the University of Florida in 2000.

Mente is a member of the executive committee of the High Country W.A.T.C.H., the Board of Directors of the Boone Area Cyclists, and Buffalo Cove Outdoor Education Center, has been a private pilot since 1992 with tail wheel and sea plane endorsements, enjoys competitive cycling, horses, white water kayaking, and gardening.

Genevieve is conversant in French and earned her Juris Doctor degree from the Levin College of Law at the University of Florida in 2009, and her B.A. in French from the University of Florida in 2000.
